Mac M2, ggplot, font size not working

I have to confirm, that on my Macbook Pro 14'', 2023, M2 Pro, 32 GByte Memory

changes made to the title and label font size in ggplot do not result in the title and label being displayed in the correct size but always in a very small font size.

Is there a workaround?

Updating to the latest Mac OS should address this, we have seen this issue on M2 Macs, let me know if this addressed it, if not we may have to try uninstalling and reinstalling ggplot and ggthemes

Thanks for your advice. Just changed the label font family from sans to serif and re-started BSS: no effect on font size; even if I changed additional elements and restarted BSS > no effect.

Just to repeat: My MacBook pro M2 is brand new, latest Mac OS, new-re-installed XQuartz. No weird software installed (except MS office for Mac ;-). The R-script with the same data works fine on my old 2017 Intel MacBook pro.

Yes, I understand what you are saying here, it is some issue with the way R is mapping to the underlying fonts, perhaps its the way we are invoking R, in any case as the BlueSky application experiences the issue, I (BlueSky Statistics) has to own it, the only think I can do next is a web meeting where we can try installing the extrafonts package

I had to run BSS as Administrator in order to have write access to install the extrafont via the 'Install R Package' option. But didn't work, see attached png with last install-note: "Error, there is no package named 'extrafont'".

I wonder if I should just wait for the next version of BSS, where hopefully this bug will be fixed. Reason: Apart from the font problem, BSS runs without problems, I can generate the figures with correct fonts easily on my old MacBook.
